This summer, I was on a reading kick. Every day, I would choose an audiobook to listen to, listen till there were only about thirty minutes left, and then pick up the book and read the final pages. The list of books I read included The Giver, They Both Die at the End, the last couple books of the Maze Runner series, and more. But, my favorite ended up being American Royal by Katharine McGee.

I came into the book extremely skeptical. I read a few reviews of the book online, and some people didn’t love the book and complained about how they specifically didn’t enjoy the ending. But, to my surprise, seconds after I began the audiobook I absolutely fell in love with the book.

I really enjoyed the three of the four characters the storyline followed, as with any story there’s a character you hate. The characters were lovable and never failed to make me feel as though I was completely enthralled in the story, the adventures the characters went on were always easy to follow and interesting.

The book was beautifully authored and didn’t leave anything up to chance. It was filled with twists and turns and was perfect in every way. The book has quickly become my go-to book. One that I always open up to when I need a little love, and always go to when I need a friend. This is the perfect book to read for absolutely anyone. The book is amazing in every way and is a perfect read. After I finished I knew I wanted to read this next book, and quickly began recommending the book to everyone I know.

Even at this moment, one of my friends is borrowing my copy of American Royals and is loving it. I would absolutely recommend this book if you love a little bit of romance, drama, and excitement.
